The Imani Drum and Dance Ensemble is made up of former members of the Chikuyu Performing Arts Ensemble. The group formed to answer a need in the east oak lane community for a cultural outlet for the children in the area. The core members have been together for fifteen years and have performed in various celebrations and ceremonies along the east coast. The performing styles include various African, Caribbean and African American influences.
